CONSIGNMENT & USED GEAR

We do offer some bicycles, skis and other outdoor equipment on consignment. If you are interested in selling your equipment at the shop, the rules are listed at the bottom of the page, below our current inventory listings.

consignment rules

  1. Consignment bicycles will be offered for sale from April 1 through October 30. Bicycles that are unsold after October 30th must be picked up by their owners by November 10th of the same year or they will be considered forfeited to the shop. 
  2. Consignment skis will be offered for sale from November 1 through April 1. Skis that are unsold after April 1 must be picked up by their owners by April 15th of the same year or they will be considered forfeited to the shop. 
  3. Consignment bicycles have a $200 consignment listing fee, regardless of sales success or listed price: This charge is the minimum fee that is due to the shop to rent the shop’s sales assets for the bicycle. This charge is due when the bike is delivered to the shop for consignment.  
  4.  At this time, we will only accept cross-country skis for consignment. We will NOT accept poles or boots of any kind.  
  5. Consignment skis have a $40 consignment fee, regardless of sales success or listed price: This charge is the minimum fee that is due to the shop to rent the shop’s sales assets. This charge is due when the skis are delivered to the shop for consignment. 
  6. All consignment equipment will incur a charge of 5% of the final sales price, in addition to the consignment listing fee. 
  7. We will collect sales tax on all consignment sales. 
  8. We may consider consignment of other gently used equipment, and it’s consignment fee will be negotiated up front. Depending on the size and value of the equipment, it should be expected that the minimum fee will be $40 and will go up from there. 
  9. All items listed for consignment must have a starting (listing) price and a minimum acceptable offer price. WE WILL NOT NEGOTIATE PRICE ON YOUR BEHALF. If an offer is made between the listing price and the established minimum, it will be accepted. If an offer is made below the minimum offer price it will be forwarded to the owner for review. The owner will have 24 hours to respond to the offer, after which time the offer will be considered rejected. 
  10. The minimum acceptable offer price will not be disclosed to potential buyers. 
  11. There are additional terms and conditions regarding insurance and indemnification that are listed on the consignment contract document, which will must be signed when the equipment is accepted for consignment. 
  12. All consignment payments will be by check and will be made within 15 days of the date of sale.
